Music and Worship
Brian Wilson, Music Minister.
Our musical theology: It's not about us; it's all about Him.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. -Psalm 150
There is nothing higher on God's agenda for Himself than worship. Worship comes in many forms. Some are musical and some are not. Evangelism is a form of worship. Preaching, teaching, and admonition are forms of worship. Singing praise is worship. Every function of the New Testament Church can be described as an act of worship.
With that said, God has chosen singing as a special catalyst for worship. (Col. 3:16) God inhabits the praises of his people. He has chosen music as a key to unlock the power of His presence. (I Sam. 16:23) This is what we believe.
Adult Choir
The adult choir at CCBC is both a family and a mediator. We look out for each other, encouraging both openness and sincerity in all things. We challenge each other to give our musical best, and laugh with each other when the notes are just not there. We rehearse every Wednesday, 7:30 – 8:30 pm. Guests are always welcomed. There is no audition required.
Seasonal Presentations
In keeping with the Church calendar, we celebrate the festive occasions of Easter and Christmas with production-level presentations. These presentations are true worship services; they call attention to the One who is our help in ages past and our hope for years to come.
Choir Fellowships and Activities
To enhance our weekly worship resources, our choir occasionally has fundraisers, parties, and sectional rehearsals. Food is typically involved!
Worship is a lot like dancing;
You are not doing it unless you quit counting the steps."
- C. S. Lewis
Children's Choir
Under the leadership of Leah Jones, Dana Given, and Kelly Marler, the children's choirs offer a musical experience for age 3 years through 5th grade. Dedicated volunteer leaders and assistants teach spiritual songs, anthems, and musicals to the children. Every effort is made to foster confidence in singing. The importance of learning music from a Biblical perspective is emphasized. Practice time, when in session, is Wednesday from 6:00pm – 6:45pm.
Our Children’s Ensembles:
* PETITE PRAISERS - Age 3 through pre-K
* MELODY MAKERS - Kindergarten through 2nd grade
